Death Knell in D
An Episcopal cathedral. A harpist plays Pachelbel’s Canon in D as a bishop ordains a kneeling group of men and women to the priesthood. Finally, the new priests turn to face the congregation, and the bishop invites applause. A tall woman in the back pew walks to the door, turns, lifts her hand, and fires a gun. A priest falls, dead.
Nora’s hands freeze on the harp. Her uncle lies on the pale marble floor, his red vestments slowly turning a darker hue. Who would kill this newly-ordained priest? As the police follow clues which lead nowhere, Nora follows secrets. Can she find the killer? And will she ever be able to play the Canon again?
